Formerly the Syracuse Nationals, 1955 NBA Champions, the 76ers debuted in Philadelphia in 1963. Local favorite Wilt Chamberlain wasted no time, leading the squad to the 1967 NBA Championship. Later fueled by such stars as Julius Erving and Moses Malone, the 76ers captured their only other NBA title in 1983. DID YOU KNOW? The 76ers' 24-0 scoring run against the Bullets on March 20, 1966, is the longest in NBA history. The 76ers played an NBA-record 14 overtime games in 1990-91. Four ex-76ers (Chamberlain, Dolph Schayes, Billy Cunningham and Hal Greer) are in the Hall of Fame. SCORECARD. In a win over the Bullets on December 30, 1977, all nine 76ers who appeared in the game scored in double digits, the only time an entire NBA team has done that.
