Even though 6-foot-1-inch Chris Jackson had never dunked in an NBA game, he came to the NBA All-Star Weekend to try his luck among the game's greats in the 1993 NBA Slam-Dunk Championship. Apparently nervous in his first-ever trip to the competition, he concentrated on simply making his first slam, a bounce pass to himself off the floor of the Delta Center. After failing to connect on his second dunk, Jackson earned his highest grade of the event with a reverse, two-handed jam that received a 42.8.
Drafted in second round by Cleveland in 1984... Subsequently traded to Indiana and acquired by Philadelphia in a trade in 1988... Averaged career high 16.2 points in 1989.
Drafted by Boston in 1981 in second round ... Obtained by Sacramento in a mid-season deal with Boston 1989... Winner of 1981 John Wooden Award... Played third base for Toronto Blue Jays for two seasons.
