The ABA's Rookie of the Year for 1975-76, David was voted to league's 2nd Team All-Stars. A two-time College Player of the Year, he had the 3rd best scoring average in the ABA with a game high of 50 points during the regular season. A three-time All-American and All-Atlantic Coast Conference player at NC State, David scored 35 or more points on 18 occasions with 7 games over 40.
The former Olympian was voted Player of the Year and All-Star center for the 1960-61 season in a poll of the NBA players themselves. Although ranking only 18th in the league among the top scorers, big Bill has been most responsible for making the Celtics the great club it is. His two greatest assets are tremendous rebounding ability and uncanny defensive tactics. He has been a member of the Celtics five years.
