Though Sharone opened the season as a starter, he got nothing but better as his rookie season wore on. He increased his scoring and rebounding averages, in fact, in each succeeding month. Revealing well-rounded skills, he scored as many as 23 points in a game (Nov. 5), once blocked seven shots (Jan. 20) and amassed 24 games with seven or more rebounds.



The key man of Kansas State's great team of 1959-60, the young Nebraskan proved to be an outstanding operative in his freshman year for the Royals.
