Nowitzki's 42-point, 12-rebound performance powered the Mavericks to an 88-84 defeat of the Pistons on Nov. 23, 2010. He scored 15 in the fourth quarter as Dallas rallied from a 12-point, second-half deficit. He was 3-for-3 from 3-point land in his 16th career 40-point effort.

"The Silent One," as Sam is called, came into his own with a bang last season and is now rated with the top, backcourt performers offensively. He possesses perhaps greater speed from a standing start than anyone else in the game. He specializes in banking in goals off the backboard with a certain "spot" he has sighted since his high school days. Along with teammate K. C. Jones, the Jones Boys give the Celtics two grand weapons with which to harry an opposing club by the all-court press.

Was selected as a WNBA All-Star in both 2003 and 2004. Set career-high per-game averages in nearly every category in 2004. Posted a single-game career high with 10 rebounds against Sacramento on July 12, 2004. Led Detroit with five game-winning shots in the 2003 season. Acted as the Detroit Shock's full-time off-season community relations player from February 1-April 26, 2002.
