One of the 11 original members of the ABA, the Pacers were among the four ABA teams that joined the NBA in 1976. Indiana dominated the ABA, appearing in the ABA Championship Series five of the league's nine years and winning three titles. In the NBA, the Pacers have qualified for the postseason five times.
