Acquired by the Bulls from the Super Sonics after the first three games of the 1972-73 season, Garfield was a real surprise package when he joined Seattle in 1970. His quick hands defensively and his steady board play kept him in the lineup. Then, teaming with Spencer Haywood and Don Smith on the frontline, his contributions made a near contender out of the Sonics.
First pick overall in 1981 draft by Dallas... Obtained in midseason trade with Dallas in 1989... Played for 1980 Olympic team... Played in NBA All-Star Games in 1984, 1987, 1988.
