The only franchise ever to win more than three consecutive NBA titles (eight in a row from 1959-66), Boston has lived up to its legacy in recent years, capturing 14 Atlantic Division titles in the last 20 seasons. Selected as the NBA's Rookie of the Year for 1975-76, Alvan led all rookies last season in average minutes played per game, rebounds, assists (450) and points. As a Sooner, Alvan was named Big 8 Conference Player of the Year 3 straight seasons. In Big 8 Conference Tournament he was a 3-time MVP Award winner and was named All-Big 8 3 times each by both AP and UPI.
