Since Luis came to the White Sox in 1950 he has lost only 3 games for them over the span of his mound work. He has won a total of 18. Last season he appeared in 24 games, winning 2 and losing 0. He was used exclusively in relief. In 1952 Luis had a 3-1 record, in 1951 it was 6-0 and in 1950 he won 7 and lost 2. Began in organized baseball, 1944, with Chattanooga of Southern Association. The Big Cat can power the ball a country mile; is always a dangerous man at the plate. Johnny first came to the majors with the St. Louis Cards in 1936. He was traded to the Giants for 1942 season, and except for three years in service, remained until the deal which brought him to the Yanks in August 1949 for $40,000. Has lead or tied for National League home run crown four times.
