Only 4 players in the American League stole more bases than Faye did in '52. He swiped 16 of them although he missed over a month of the season, while on option to Louisville. Faye's entire career prior to '52 was spent at Scranton in the Eastern League. He hit .263 for them in '50 and .304 in '51. Faye is now in the Army.
Bill, who played at second and third bases for the Cubs in 1952, appeared in a total of 122 games, hitting .274. He was on his way to a great season in 1951, was batting .333 when he fractured his wrist in a game early in May. Did not appear in the Cubs' line-up the rest of that season. He's been with Chicago since the end of the 1949 season.
Tiedemann was a busy man in 2023, making four pit stops on Toronto's minor league ladder and maintaining his quick path to the bigs. He wasn't done when the schedule ended, either. The lefty instead descended on the desert, where he posted a 2.50 ERA and held batters to a .190 average to earn fall circuit Pitcher of the Year honors.
