Edward Frederick Yost nicknamed "Ed" was born in Brooklyn, home of the Dodgers, but has done all his major league playing for the Senators, starting in 1944. Tied with George Kell for A.L. record by playing 157 games at third base, 1952. Led American League third basemen in double plays, 1950; in '48 led A.L. in putouts (189) for 3rd basemen; repeated in 1951 (209), 1952 (212), and 1953 (190).
The ex-Bucknell University basketball and baseball star turned in an excellent record at Syracuse in '52. He led the I. L. in Wins, Shutouts (7) and Complete Games (27). A pilot during the War, Bobby broke in at Binghamton in '46. He had a 10-5 record for them in '47; joined Newark in '48 and then went to Kansas City. In '51, Bob had a 13-9 record for Syracuse.
