Eros Barger, pitcher of the Pittsburgh Federal League Club, was born at Columbia, Ky., on May 23, 1885. After graduating from Kentucky University, he began professional ball with Lancaster, of the Tristate League, and played there two seasons. In 1907, 1908 and 1909, Barger was with Rochester, of the Eastern League, and was secured by Brooklyn Nationals in 1910. For two years he was with Brooklyn, and was then sent back to Rochester, from which club the Pittsburgh Federals secured him in 1914.
Former Yankee property, Frank was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1964. The lefty rookie turned out to be a life saver for the Bucs. Carpin was sold to Columbus (IL) Oct. 20, 1965 by the Pirates.
