After spending his major league career in the American League, Saul finds himself a National Leaguer for the 1954 season.. A sore arm hampered him the past couple of years. Although Saul had appeared in the majors in both 1949 and 1950 for brief periods with Detroit, he was considered a rookie in 1951 when he joined the White Sox in May. He finished the year with an earned run average of 2.78, the best in the league. Won 12, lost 8.
Many collectors believe that some cards, such as the T213-1 Coupon cards, should also be considered T206s.
Todd was one of the top hitting prospects in the minors when promoled to the Rockies. He had two hits, including a homer, in his Aug. 2 debut against Pittsburgh after posting a .352 average with 16 homers and 88 RBIs for AAA-Colorado Springs. He also had a 16-game hitting streak. With Andres Galarraga anchoring first base last year, Todd played some outfield after his call-up.
