After an impressive minor league record, Nelson was promoted to the parent club in 1965. Used primarily as a relief pitcher, the rookie showed the poise and know-how of a veteran hurler. Nelson uses a blazing fastball and a sharp-breaking curve to keep the batters off stride. The St. Louis Cardinals are extremely high on this promising youngster. With only two years of experience behind him, Nelson is ready to become one of the mainstays of the St. Louis pitching corps. Watch him baffle the hitters this year.
