Brought up from Ottawa rather late in the 1951 season. Won 4 straight games. Finished the season with a record of 5 and 1 for the Giants. Al's 1951 record at Ottawa stood at 2 and 4 when he was called to the Polo Grounds. He began in 1948 with Reno.
Moe started his career in the Yankee farm system. He is a valuable glove man and a fine handler of pitchers.
The "Big Bear" has never had a losing season since he was brought up to the Majors by the Indians in '49. In '52, he was a 20-game winner for the second straight year and ranked 2nd in the League in Earned Run Average. He also had 6 Shutouts in '52. Mike started his pro pitching career in '42 and was in the Service during the '43, '44 and '45 seasons. He's considered the fastest right-hander in the AL.
