George J. Moriarity, infielder of the De- troit American League Club, was born at Chicago, Ill., on July 7, 1884. He played his first professional ball with the Spring- field, Ill., team in 1903. He joined Chicago Nationals the following year, but was sent to Toledo American Association team for further seasoning, where he remained until 1905. He joined New York Americans in the fall of that year, and stayed for three seasons, when Detroit Americans obtained him in a trade.



Mookie mauled the ball in August 2023, helping the Dodgers go 24-5 that month. He set a Los Angeles-era franchise record with 51 hits that calendar page, slashing .455/.516/.839 with a whopping 30 RBI.



Dick began the 1954 season with the Pirates, and after he had appeared in 12 games for them, hitting .097, he went to Hollywood of the Pacific Coast League. For the Stars he hit .294 for 136 games. He drove in 51 runs and his 152 hits went for a total of 192 bases. Began in organized ball in 1949 and first hit the majors at the end of the 1951 season.
