The former UCLA football and basketball star has been showered with honors ever since he joined the Dodgers. Jackie was the NL Rookie of the Year in '47; was the League's Most Valuable Player in '49; and has been named to 4 Major League All-Star teams. His .342 average in '49 led the NL and his '51 Fielding Average of .992 is a NL record for 2nd Basemen. He was 3rd in Runs and Stolen Bases in '52.

The high spot of Cliff's career came in 1951 and it occurred during the second game of a double header. It was May 6th, and he entered the pitcher's Hall of Fame by pitching a no-hitter. The opposition was offered by the then Boston Braves, and Cliff at the time was pitching for the Pirates. While he gave up no hits, he still had his problems, walking 8 men. He also struck out four. Later, Cliff was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in a seven player deal.
