After pitching in pro ball since 1953, George "arrived" last year as he finished with the 4th best earned run average in the A. L.

Used mainly in relief in 1951, George came to the Indians from San Diego. At San Diego in 1950, he had a 20-14 record, striking out 116. A World War II Veteran, he started in organized ball in '46, but didn't play in 1947. With Spartanburg in 1948, George won 18, lost 12 and had 112 Strikeouts to his credit. In 1949 at Oklahoma City, he fanned 112 again, while winning 16 against 7 losses.

Collectors should be on the lookout for forged 1909 T206 Set cards — particularly those of Wagner, the Big Four, or Cobb cards.
