For the second straight season, Ron led the Met bullpen in saves. His total of 14 in 1968 set a new club record.

In 1944, he again led his league in triples (16). In 1945, the Army called but he was back on the team in 1946, playing first base and in the outfield. He's a policeman in California during the off-season.
Bob was originally signed by the Detroit Tigers in 1953. He was obtained in the expansion draft by Houston in 1961. His 15 victories in 1964 represent the most wins by any Houston hurler in their short history. He also led the club in strikeouts and had the best ERA on the staff that season.
