Frank pitched only 4 innings in 3 appearances for the Tigers, and was involved in no decisions in 1954. However, he is regarded as a fine prospect. He starred at the University of Alabama, and was signed off the campus. In 1950 he was with Jamestown of the Pony League, where he won 5 and lost 2 and had a league leading 1.88 earned run average. He went in military service just at the beginning of the 1951 season. In 1953, he had a 17-11 record for Buffalo.

Jason graduated to the Tigers primary closer job in 2024 after serving in a setup role the previous three seasons. He made 69 appearances, one off his career high, and tied for fifth in the AL in saves. Foley converted his first nine save opportunities while registering a 1.32 ERA. He recorded four saves and didn't allow a run in 14 outings in August.

Has lifetime batting average of .315 and is second only to Ted Williams among active American League players. Has fallen below .300 only once in seven seasons with Indians. Top average was .336 in pennant year, 1948. Originally a speed merchant, he has been swinging for distance more in recent years and reached homer peak of 13 in 1953.
