Lee Grissom made his debut in baseball in 1934 with the Beckley Club, of the Middle Atlantic League, and was purchased by Cincinnati the same year and optioned to Fort Worth, with whom he played in 1935. He was recalled by Cincinnati the same year and optioned to Nashville, recalled by Cincinnati in 1936, pitching for them ever since. In 1937 he pitched in 50 games, winning 12 and losing 17. He was out of baseball most of last year because of injuries, but is back in the lineup this year and is well on the road to becoming the "strikeout king of the National League by virtue of one of the fastest balls in the league.
