Name that player!

Joe Heving, who pitched as a relief pitcher for the Boston Red Sox last year, had the best percentage as far as wins and losses are concerned, having won 9 games, and lost only 2 for the entire season. Joe was recalled from Milwaukee in the middle of the 1938 season, and proved a big help to the Boston Red Sox pitching staff.

Joe became a Senators' Coach in '53 after 14 seasons as a Big League pitcher. He broke in with Washington in '39 after an 18-9 season at Charlotte. He was sold to the White Sox in '41 and enjoyed his best year in '47 when he won 16 and lost 6 with a 2.42 ERA. After winning 55 games in 8 seasons with Chicago, he was traded back to the Senators in '49.

Jim split the 5 season between the Indians and Indianapolis. Strangely enough he had a higher Batting Average with the Indians. He's been playing professionally since '48 when he broke in with Burlington of the Central Association. Jim hit .330 for Spartanburg of the Tri-State League in '49, .321 for Dayton of the Central League in '50 and .299 for Dallas of the Texas League in '51.
