Name that player!

Bobby was playing sandlot ball in St. Louis when the Giants spotted him and signed him in '44. He played in 18 games for Springfield that year and then went into the Service in '45. He played for Trenton in '46 and '47 and for Sioux City in '48, he hit .319 and was the Western Association All-Star 2nd Baseman. Bobby hit .296, batted in 86 Runs and was an All-Star choice in '50, for Oakland of the Pacific Coast League.

Randy got into 126 games for the Cubs in 1946, batting .273. He had 17 doubles, 6 triples and 19 homers. He batted in 67 runs and scored 77. He began in baseball in 1948 with Des Moines. At the end of the 1950 season he came to the majors with the Cubs, and has been with them ever since. In 1952 he made a few appearances in the outfield, the only time he has played anywhere but at third base.

The Braves have high hopes for Johnny when he returns from Military Service. In June of 1948, he was signed by the Braves for a bonus of $65,000 and joined the team immediately without ever playing in the minors. He pitched only 4 innings in '48 and had no decisions. In 1949, Johnny had a 3-7 record and a 3.56 Earned Run Average. He showed better control in 1950 striking out 33 while walking only 22 as he posted a 2-3 mark.
