Started 1951 with the St. Louis Browns. After 91 games for the Brownies, with a batting average of .282, Ray was switched to the White Sox. In 51 games for the Pale Hose, batting .276. Drove in a total of 76 runs. Slammed 8 home runs. Hit 12 triples and 24 doubles.
Not even on the Yankee roster during the spring training season, Jack's impressive hurling at Richmond earned him another shot in the big leagues. The righthander is used as a starter & reliever.
Johnny has been in Cardinal organization since he broke into pro ball in 1943. He's had brief trials with the Cards in 1948 and 1950. He hopes to make the grade this year. With Rochester in '51, he was named the International League All-Star Team Catcher. Johnny has done some heavy minor league hitting with .388 in 1944, .328 in 1945 and 361 in 1947.
