A snappy young ball player and a good. prospect. With Montreal in 1954, Chico hit .282 and led the International League in doubles with 44. He's a great base runner and in his four years in organized ball he has stolen exactly 100 bases. In his rookie year with Billings of the Pioneer League in 1951 he hit .284 and stole 34 bases. He has played Cuban winter league ball for the past four years. He graduated from Instituto Municipal Ecnologico in Havana in 1950.



A switch-hitter who played every infield and outfield post, Augie batted over .300 in six of his 16 Major League seasons. One of the speediest baserunners of his day, he led the N.L. in Stolen Bases with 22 in '35 and 23 in '37 and in Walks with 103 in '43 and 101 in '44. Augie hit .314 for the Cubs in '35, 318 for Brooklyn in '44 and .314 for Cincy in '47.
