The free-swinging first sacker has emerged as one of the game's top slugging stars. Last year, Willie paced the Senior Circuit in home runs (36) and RBI'S (105). He also leads all-active Giants with eight grand slams. Willie won the Rookie of the Year Award in 1959, though he wasn't brought up to the Giants until July 30th. In his first game in the National League, Willie tied a record by cracking four hits. The success of the Giants also rides on the golden arm of Juan Marichal. The brilliant righthander holds a lifetime edge over every National League team. Juan had 37 career shutouts going into 1969 and has won over 20 or more games in five out of the last six seasons. These two offensive and defensive stars are truly Giants of the game today.
