Tommy was acquired from the Indians. Just a year ago, Cleveland gave up Fred Whitfield & George Culver to secure Tommy's services. In '68, he was 3rd on Cleve. with 11 stolen bases.



A returnee from military service. Vern is a personal discovery of Bing Crosby. He was an outstanding athlete in high school in his home town. He captained his baseball team and graduated with thirteen letters. He first played in organized ball with Santa Rosa where he won 8 and lost 5 games. In 1949, he was with Davenport and he began the 1950 season with New Orleans. For the Pirates, he appeared in 27 games, striking out 57 batters in 128 innings.



Eddie went to Brownies in big deal that brought Vern Stephens and Jack Kramer to Boston Red Sox. Began in OB in 1938 with Danville of Bi-State League. Spent four years in military service and then joined the Red Sox and appeared in a total of 96 games for them in two seasons. Last season with the Brownies he hit .238 in 105 games.
