Dave returned from his second hitch in the Service in the Spring of '52. He was claimed at that time from the Yanks by the Browns and was traded to the Tigers later in the season. The big redhead was used mostly in relief by the 2 AL clubs and in his 4 year Minor League career, he concentrated entirely on relief pitching, never starting a game. He holds a B.S. in Forestry from LSU.

Blazin' Bob will be wearing a Yankee uniform this season after enjoying a sensational year at Baltimore in '54. One of the most talked-about newcomers, he has a bullet-like fast ball that helped him rank as No. 1 Strikeout artist in the A.L. last year. Bob joined the Browns in '51 and after two years in the Army, he returned to register 61 Strikeouts in only 61 innings in '53.

Big Freddie is the American League's player representative. He was in 31 games for the Tigers in 1951, winning 10 and losing 10. Pitched 188 innings. Gave up 204 hits. Walked only 27. Struck out 53. Earned run average: 3.69. Fred began with Seattle. First with Tigers in 1939.
