Sold to the Indians by the Senators in April, 1952, Mickey has been in the majors since 1941, when he joined the Red Sox. In Military Service 1942-43-44-45, he had a 17-9 record in '46 and 5-4 in '47. Mickey fell off in '48 and was traded to the Senators in '49. In '50 he won 5 and lost 9, and pitched in more games than any other American League Pitcher (53). Mickey started in pro ball in 1938. After winning 17 at Scranton in '39, he had a trial with the Red Sox.
Drafted from the Chicago Cubs, Bill will see plenty of action with the Expos both as a starter and reliever. He earned his shot in the majors after winning five of seven games at Tacoma. As a Cub rookie, he was a fine strikeout pitcher fanning 52 batters in 63 innings.
In a performance worthy of the National League Player of the Month Award, Myers' 11 home runs in June of 2016 bettered Greg Vaughn's 1998 team record of 10 for that month. Wil had 33 RBI in 26 games.
