As of July 7 - the date of Jacob's final 2021 start - he led the Majors with his 1.08 ERA, 148 strikeouts, 1.08 walks per nine innings and 0.554 WHIP.
In 5 seasons of Minor League ball, Bill has never failed to hit over .300. At Phoenix in 1947, his first year, he hit .336 in 60 games. He followed this up with .316 and 144 RBI's, and in '49, had a .339 BA and drove in 130 Runs at Bremerton. Bill led the Western League in '50 with .346 at Sioux City and in '53 at Nashville hit .350 and 22 Homers.
Earl played with the Indians, the White Sox and the Cubs before joining L.A. in 1961. In 1958, the catcher was the MVP in the P.C.L. as he batted .347 with San Diego. His father is a former big league great.
