Arm trouble struck Minnie in '68, after he notched 22 saves for the Angels the previous year. The 1967 Fireman of the Year set a record with 72 appearances.



Few more complete athletes than Eric have played the game. During his peak from 1986-1990 before physical challenges intervened, Davis won three fielding awards and hit 57 more home runs (148) than any other player who stole at least 200 bases (207).



Ed started in baseball with Paducah of the Kitty League in '40. He was with Memphis, Greenville, Jackson, Atlanta, Norfolk and Indianapolis before joining the Braves in '45. He had an 8-3 record and a 2.51 ERA in his rookie year in the Big Leagues and stayed with the Beantowners 2 more seasons before being sent down to Milwaukee in '48. Ed pitched for Toronto in '49, Minneapolis in '50 and Ottawa in '51.
