Ed started in baseball with Paducah of the Kitty League in '40. He was with Memphis, Greenville, Jackson, Atlanta, Norfolk and Indianapolis before joining the Braves in '45. He had an 8-3 record and a 2.51 ERA in his rookie year in the Big Leagues and stayed with the Beantowners 2 more seasons before being sent down to Milwaukee in '48. Ed pitched for Toronto in '49, Minneapolis in '50 and Ottawa in '51.
