Growing up in Philadelphia, Piazza benefited from the fact his family had season tickets at Veterans Stadium. His second-row seat gave him a close view of Mike Schmidt hitting more home runs (548) than any other third baseman. That positional dominance struck a chord with Piazza, who went on to launch more longballs (427) than any other catcher.

Opponents batted a meager .177 against Edward in 2022, with lefties (.168) faring even worse than righties (.186). That's largely a credit to his signature change-up. While just 4.6 mph slower than his heater, the pitch features venomous sink and fade.

Hank's MLB career started in Milwaukee, where he won two of his four home run titles, three of his four in RBI, both of his batting crowns, and his only NL MVP Award. By the end of his 23-year career, he was the game's career leader in longballs, RBI and TBs.
