Jets Card of the Day

Gord Donnelly
Gord is one of the few players to be traded for a coach; his rights were transferred to Quebec in 1983 when St. Louis signed Jacques Demers. Gord began his pro career as a right wing but converted to defense. In Winnipeg in 1989-90, he was plus-3 in six playoff games, with one assist. While scoring less in 1989-90, Gord made a dramatic improvement in his plus/minus rating, from minus-20 in 1988-89 to plus-3 in 1989-90. He now wears jersey no. 34.

Johnny Kovacevic
A hard shooter that plays a great stay-at-home game, Kovacevic got a brief look from the Jets in 2021-22 after putting up strong numbers with the AHL's Manitoba Moose. On March 12, he opened the scoring with his ninth tally of the season in the first period before setting up goals by Cole Maier and Mikey Eyssimont in the middle frame of a 6-1 road win over the Belleville Senators.
