Name that player!

Mario experienced both highs and lows during the 1989-90 season. His biggest high came in the NHL All-Star Game in Pittsburgh when he scored four goals and won the game's MVP award for a record third time. His low point came in the second half of the season when a herniated disk sidelined him for 21 games and interrupted his 46-game point scoring streak. But he still finished the season with 123 points. Mario, Rookie of the Year in 1984-85, has recorded at least 100 points in each of his six NHL seasons. He won the Art Ross Trophy as the league's leading scorer for the second straight season in 1988-89 and won the Hart Trophy as the league's MVP in 1987-88.

Mario led the NHL in Goals, Points, PPG SHG, and Hat Tricks (9) in 1988-89.

Despite being the son of a member of hockey's Hall of Fame, young Syl certainly isn't going to have to play in his father's shadow. He's a freeskating center with a graceful and effective style. Last season was the best ever for Syl and he led all Pittsburg scorers. He was acquired in a 1971 trade with the New York Rangers.

Jaromir Jagr
In the first year of the Post-Mario Era in Pittsburgh, Jaromir Jagr raised his level of play several notches and consequentially, earned his second Art Ross Trophy. The superstar right winger enjoyed one of his more producive outings of the season on January 22 when he notched a goal and assisted on the game-winning marker in a 3-2 win over New Jersey.
