Red Wings Card of the Day

Andrew Copp
Copp notched his first marker in a Detroit sweater in clutch fashion on Nov. 3, 2022, when the Michigan native found the back of the net for the game-winner in the third period as the host Red Wings routed the Capitals 3-1.

Name that player!

Nicklas' rookie season was a huge success. He led Sweden to the gold medal at the 1991 World Championships and played in the Canada Cup last fall, then quickly became recognized as one of the best point men to enter the NHL in many years. His blasts from the blueline forced penalty killing units all over the league to key on him and open up more room near the net. His quickness keys Wings' transition game.

Acquired from Chicago in June, 1962, Doug missed rookie honors by two-tenths of a point. Has 19 goals in three NHL seasons, mostly off the point.

Drafted by the Kings after his second season of junior, Aivazoff has spent the past four seasons in the AHL with the New Haven Senators and Adirondack Red Wings.

Back to the Front! Red Wings card back du jour...

Roger Crozier
Smallish goalie hit the jackpot as rookie last season. Hard-working, acrobatic, he got mid-season Miamr break and came back strong. Succeeded Terry Sawchuk.
