A native of Syracuse, N.Y., who grew up rooting for the Sabres, Tuch was the most established player Buffalo received when it dealt former captain Jack Eichel to Vegas on Nov. 4, 2021, along with former first-round pick Peyton Krebs. In his first game with Buffalo, Tuch set up a second-period goal in a battle with the visiting New Jersey Devils.

O'Reilly led Buffalo in assists, points and power-play points (22) in 2015-16. The Sabres' alternate captain was named to his first career NHL All-Star Game appearance that season as his team's lone representative.
