North Stars Card of the Day

Dave Gagner
After five years of shuttling between the minors and the NHL, Dave has found a home in Minnesota. He was second on the North Stars with 40 goals in 1989-90 and his 78 points was third on the club. Dave, a first-round pick of the New York Rangers in 1983, was traded to Minnesota in 1987. He got his first chance to play regularly in 1988-89 and he responded with a spectacular season, scoring 35 goals - 27 more than his career high. He also led the North Stars with a plus-13 rating. An injury kept him out of that season's playoffs but he got a taste of postseason play in 1990 and scored a key goal in Game 6 against Chicago.

Name that player!

One of his most effective moves is a stuff shot in the corner from behind the net which takes advantage of his formidable reach. A heralded playmaker for club.

One of the few American-born hockey players, Charlie has rebounded from two serious injuries to continue his career. The helmeted center specializes in checking, a much needed but seldom noticed skill.

Four seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, during which he saw limited action at times, proved Claude Larose's talent. He hit for 21 goals in 1964-65. Had spectacular playoff output with Omaha of Central League, scoring eight goals and six assists in eight games, 1963-64.
