Patriots Card of the Day

Curtis Martin
Only 1st-year player elected to '96 Pro Bowl, Curtis ran away with every imaginable NFL Rookie-of-the-Year honor. Not only did he lead all AFC backs in rushing with 1,487 yards, but he out-rushed 9 NFL teams! Eric Dickerson, George Rogers and Ottis Anderson are only RBs in NFL history to rush for more yards as a rookie. His 9 100-plus yard rushing efforts broke Jim Nance's all-time Patriots record of 8 set in 1966.

Name that player!

Dick played for New York before joining the Patriots just prior to the opening of the '62 season. An All-League cornerman with the Titans, he has continued in that position with Boston. Dick earned quite a name for himself during his days at Brigham Young University. The hustling cornerman was twice named to his All-League team. A real hustler, Dick is always a threat at intercepting an enemy pass.

One of the all-time pass receivers in the A.F.L., Jim was a member of the original Patriots in 1960. Traded to the Jets in 1965, Jim was then reacquired by Boston. Good speed, sure hands and gutsy determination makes him tops!

Larry is another member of the Patriots that came from Boston College. At the close of his second year in the American Football League, he was named to the AFL All-League team and he went on to play a key role in the All-Star game. Originally a defensive right end, he has switched to the left side now. At college, Larry starred as a two-way end and later he became a tackle.

Art Graham
Art was one of the league's most exciting rookies last year as he proved to be a talented pass receiver. Another alumni from Boston College, Art was the number one draft choice by the Patriots. During his rookie year, the freshman played split end, right end and also wingback on the double wing offense. Art's dad was a major league outfielder with the Boston Red Sox.
