Joined the Giants last year for the last 3 games after having served apprenticeship with the Jersey City Giants. Led the league with Jersey City in both passing and punting. Married, has a child.

Was an All-Pacific Coast selection and co-captain of the West team that defeated the East 13 to 9 in the Shrine Game at San Francisco January 1, 1947. Last season Chris proved himself a fine line backer and blocker, a steady dependable workman. Of Danish descent, he is married.

Barkley left one final gift for Giants fans from his electrifying debut season. In Week 17 against the Cowboys, the running back rocketed for a 68-yard run against one of the league's best defenses. It was a fitting farewell to a year with more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage, only the third ever by an NFL rookie.
