Steelers Card of the Day

Willie Parker
Parker is shaping up as a great find. Never his team's rushing leader at UNC, he went undrafted but won a shot with the 2004 Steelers and produced (including a 102-yard game in the finale) whenever handed the ball. He had a rush of 10 yards or longer in every game where he had at least one carry.

Wild Card Weekend: Weekly Wrap Up: Down 30-14 early in the fourth quarter, Maddox led the Steelers to 22 points and a 36-33 victory over Cleveland in an AFC Wild Card Game on January 5. He hit final-period TD passes to Jerame Tuman and Hines Ward, then went 4-for-5 for 58 yards on the drive to Christian Fuamatu-Ma'afala's winning TD run with 0:54 left. He finished with 367 yards.

A genuine "big play" threat each time he touches the ball, Walter brings speed and explosiveness to the Steelers' offense. He has instinctive, versatile talent to run inside and 4.5 speed in the 40-yard dash to turn the corner for long gainers.

Jerry, one of the best defensive backfield men in pro football, is in his fifth year with the Steelers. He came to the team from UCLA where he played football and made a new record for shotput. He is known as a dependable fullback who can get three or four yards per carry. In 1951, when Pittsburgh led the league with 30 interceptions, Jerry accounted for 6 of them, one a beautiful 58-yard return.

Back to the Front! Steelers card back du jour...

Ed Beatty
For consistently fine performances, the Steelers rely on Ed. He's the center of the Pittsburgh offensive operation and has to be a rock of Gibraltar. Ed more than fills the bill.
