Name that player!

One of the fastest moving ends in the game, Dave was the Lions' No. 1 receiver last season. He can fake pass defenders out of plays with ease. Once he's in the clear he's impossible to catch.

After a season in Canadian Football, Bill joined the Lions last season. Between campaigns, he is a dedicated church worker. On the field, Bill is a deadly tackler.

Detroit began its rebuild in 2021, overhauling the roster and starting anew. The organization surrounded a youthful roster with a host of veterans, including Brockers. The 10-year veteran started 16 games during his first season with the Lions and became a calming presence in the locker room.

Back to the Front! Lions card back du jour...

Glenn Presnell
"Squeezing" the ball is one of the first lessons backfield players must master. Note the way Glenn Presnell of the Detroit Lions has the ball cradled in the hollow of his arm, the hand making a basket over the end and the oval pressed tightly against his ribs. Tendency among young players is to let the ball dangle loosely when about to be tackled and causing a fumble with the tacklers shock. A back must learn instinctively to hug the leather hard at the moment of impact. Many a fine open field run has been spoiled because the carrier fumbles into the hands of the other team and offsets his long gain. "Hug that ball." Glenn Presnell, University of Nebraska, All American Halfback, 1927, Best place kicker in National League. 5 ft. 10 inches, 188 pounds.
