Peyton's 3,819 passing yards ranked third in the nation behind Tim Couch (3,884) and Tim Rattay (3,876) in 1997. Peyton is said to have superb technique, and possesses a quick, compact throwing motion. He has the arm strength to go long, and the savvy and pure skill to throw the soft touch passes.
"Blast" Sandusky bombs through his opposition's line, clearing a path for his carrier. This line of attack results in his being a weary Colt at each game end.
Caught the pass which set up the disputed Notre Dame score against Navy in 1947. Made successful jump to pro football after only two years of college grid experience. Is being switched in 1950 from defense to offense because of speed, height and capable hands. An Army ordnance veteran of 18 months' service. Student during the off-season.
