Name that player!

The Colts regular quarterback in 1968 due to John Unitas' bad elbow, Earl not only won the NFL passing title, but was named the loop's MVP. Engineered the Colts to a regular season record of 13 wins and one loss, to the Coastal Division title, the Western Conference crown and the NFL championship. An All-America quarterback at Michigan State.

There is no one in the N.F.L. who plugs up a hole as fast and sure as "Big Daddy" Gene Lipscomb. He was All Star Defensive choice again in 1960. At rushing passers, "Big Daddy" is terrifying.

The Colts led the Western Conference until the latter part of the season when injuries plagued their 2 QB's. Falling behind, they ended the regular season in a tie with Green Bay. In a Conference playoff, they lost by 3 points in "sudden death."

Back to the Front! Colts card back du jour...

Billy Ray Smith
Billy joined the Colts in 1960, coming from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Don't let Billy's weight fool you... small for an N.F.L. tackler, this boy is fast and dangerous at all times.
