Name that player!

Chicago, a late bloomer in '65, finished 3rd in the Western Conference. They won 9 and lost 5, ending the season with a total of 409 points earned against 275 for their competition. In percentage points, they had .643 in the win column.

Along with his mighty physical assets, Dick has a great feel for football which allows him to read the opponent's plays. He has been selected for the Pro Bowl team in both his previous years and All-League in his rookie year.

Linebackers such as Lance give quarterbacks nightmares for several reasons. If he's blitzing, he's on top of the signalcaller in a hurry, and he owns the speed to chase down his fleeing prey. If Briggs instead drops into coverage, he exhibits the agility to hang with receivers and the hands to make a pick. Lance Briggs, Chicago Bears Linebacker from Los Angeles, Calif., and University of Arizona. 6 ft. 1 inch, 242 pounds.

Back to the Front! Bears card back du jour...

Bronko Nagurski
Bronko Nagurski, former Minnesota fullback now with the Chicago Bears, is perhaps the best known professional football player still active in the game. Twice All-American in college, he has since won All-National pro honors five times in succession. A product of the wheat farm country, he still works the soil between action on the football field and professional wrestling mat. He is one of the few players versatile enough to play any position on the team without losing his effectiveness. He is as much a tradition to Minnesota football today as Red Grange is to Illinois.
