Bills Card of the Day

Stew Barber
A veteran of five years in the American Football League, Stew was a #4 draft pick back in 1961. The big tackle played as a linebacker during his rookie season. Buffalo coaches were sure that Stew would serve the team best as a tackle and how right they were. Because of his top-flight performances, Stew has been named to several All-American Football League teams. Now recognized as one of pro football's biggest stars, Stew credits hard work as the key to success.

Name that player!

It was rare, but defenders could sometimes shut down Thomas on the ground. In that case, the legendary running back would shift gears and dominate as a receiver. Between his rushes and receptions, he topped the league in scrimmage yards in four consecutive seasons (1989-92).

Cook creates magic with the ball in his hands, vanishing behind his linemen and popping into the open before darting past tacklers with a lightning-quick pair of feet. The 5-foot-11 scatback then turns on his otherworldly afterburners, speeding into the end zone and pointing toward the Bulldogs' faithful in celebration.

Jack was a star quarterback with the San Diego Chargers before he joined the Bills. With the Chargers, he completed 376 of 770 passes. In 1960, Jack led the American Football League with 211 complete passes and 20 touchdowns. Last year, his first full season with the Bills, Jack gained 2914 yards through the airways.
