Four teams joined the NBA in 1976 under the terms of the ABA-NBA merger, and the New York Nets had been one of the ABA's most successful. The team captured the final ABA Championship (1976) before the league disbanded. After just one season in the NBA, the Nets moved to New Jersey, where the franchise had originated as the New Jersey Americans in 1967. DID YOU KNOW? The Nets hold the NBA record for most blocked shots in a game with 22 rejections against the Nuggets on December 12, 1991. The Nets have won more NBA Rookie of the Year Awards (two, Buck Williams and Derrick Coleman) than the Lakers (one, Elgin Baylor). SCORECARD. Seven players scored in double figures January 9, 1993, as the Nets thumped the Bullets 124-79 for the largest winning margin in the Nets' NBA history.

Established himself as a valuable frontcourt player off the bench for Nets in 1991...Scored season-high 12 points against Miami 1/26/91...Led Arizona in scoring (14.9 ppg) and rebounding (8.3 rpg) and ranked second in steals with 40 as a senior...Named to all-PAC-10 Conference team in 1990...An accomplished volleyball player who competed in the U.S. Olympic Festival in 1985 and 1986.
