Name that player!

Christian Laettner has done a lot of smiling in his young basketball career. After being a part of two NCAA Championships with Duke and winning a gold medal in Spain, he moved on to become one of the NBA's top rookies in 1992-93. Ranked among the top five rookies in both scoring (17.8 per game) and rebounding (8.2 per outing) at mid-season, Laettner has a future that looks just as bright as his past.

I felt so bad when I saw Marbury get hurt earlier in the 1996-97 season. This kid is going to be sensational. Now that he is back in the fold, the Timberwolves are going nowhere but up. Along with tag-team partner Kevin Garnett, the Timberwolves have two of the most exciting and athletic young stars in the entire NBA. Did you know? Marbury teamed with Kevin Gameyt on the 1995 USA Junior Select Team that played in the Basketball Hall of Fame Hoop Summit.

Selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 1989 Expansion Draft... Began his professional career with the Bullets and was the back-up center behind Hall-of-Famer Wes Unseld... Was a three-time NAIA all-American... Earned college degree in Business.
