Benoit's 187 blocked shots in 1989-90 led the Clippers, placed him fifth among league leaders, and extended the franchise career record (previously held by Bob McAdoo) for blocked shots that he already held. He concluded his collegiate career at Creighton as the third-leading shot-blocker in NCAA history, then was chosen as the third overall pick in the draft, following Patrick Ewing and Wayman Tisdale. Bicycle riding and music occupy his spare time.
Drafted by Seattle in first round, 15th pick, in 1988... Obtained by Clippers in draft day deal... Nicknamed "The General"... Led Clippers in assists as rookie.
