Clippers Card of the Day

Jaren Jackson
Jackson is a big "2" guard/small forward with a hard-nosed defensive reputation. After spending time with Golden State and New Jersey of the NBA and Wichita Falls and LaCrosse of the CBA over the last two seasons, this Georgetown product has found his niche backing up Ron Harper for the Clippers, occasionally sharing backcourt duties with former Big East opponent Mark Jackson.

Name that player!

Often compared to Michael Jordan because of his acrobatic slams, Ron hasn't lost a step despite major knee surgery in 1990. In his first full season back (1991-92), Ron didn't miss a single game.

In the second year of his burgeoning pro career, Hyland cemented his standing as a certified spark plug off the bench. On nights like Jan. 11, 2023, the sweet- shooting guard baffled defenses with his play from beyond the arc. Facing Phoenix, he poured in 21 points, shooting 5-of-7 from deep in a 126-97 win.

Originally based in New York as the Buffalo Braves, the franchise traveled from coast to coast to settle in San Diego as the Clippers for the 1978-79 season. Six seasons later, the club took its show on the road to Los Angeles, where in 1992, the Clippers made their first trip to the NBA Playoffs since 1975-76. DID YOU KNOW? In 1992-93, the Clippers posted back-to-back winning months to open a season (7-6 in November, 8-6 in December) for the first time since 1974-75. When Larry Brown took over the Clippers midway through 1991-92, he became the first person to coach two different NBA teams in one season. SCORECARD. In the highest-scoring NBA Playoff game in franchise history (April 18, 1976), the Braves topped Philadelphia 124-123 in overtime for their only triumph in an NBA Playoff series.

Stanley Roberts
Roberts was Orlando's second pick in the 1991 NBA Draft, taken 13 picks after College: Louisiana Brian Williams. In his rookie season, Roberts earned a selection to the 1991-92 State NBA All-Rookie Second Team. Roberts led the Magic in blocks even though he played in only 55 games, and he finished just out of the top five among rookies in scoring average, just behind Denver guard Mark Macon (10.6).
