Even though 6-foot-1-inch Chris Jackson had never dunked in an NBA game, he came to the NBA All-Star Weekend to try his luck among the game's greats in the 1993 NBA Slam-Dunk Championship. Apparently nervous in his first-ever trip to the competition, he concentrated on simply making his first slam, a bounce pass to himself off the floor of the Delta Center. After failing to connect on his second dunk, Jackson earned his highest grade of the event with a reverse, two-handed jam that received a 42.8.
Selected as the No.2 pick in the 1995 NBA Draft by the Clippers but was traded to Denver along with Randy Woods for Rodney Rogers and the rights to Brent Barry. Is the highest draft pick to ever play for the Nuggets since they joined the NBA in 1976...Led Alabama as a sophomore in scoring (13.9 ppg) and rebounding [10.2 rpg)... Led the Crimson Tide to a 23-10 record and the second round of the 1995 NCAA Tournament.
Orlando Woolridge proved he could still play on a top level in 1990-91 His 25.1 ppg would have placed him 10th in the NBA if an injury had not cut his season short. Woolridge arrived in Denver from the Lakers where he began his return to form.
