Hornets Card of the Day

PJ Washington, Jr.
While Washington didn't score on March 28, 2021, he impacted every aspect of the game at a high level. Against the Suns, the well-rounded forward recorded 12 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. The last Charlotte player to do all that in a game was Dwight Howard in 2018.

Name that player!

"LJ," always the intense competitor, displays his customary roar as he converts two in a victory over Chicago, 2-20-95. Johnson, known for his aggressive and emotional play, is often called on by Charlotte coach Allan Bristow, to "take the bull: by the horns" and lead his team to victory.

Revitalizing the Charlotte Hornets in 1994-95 was the return to NBA All-Star form of the team's two < marquee players, Alonzo Mourning and Larry Johnson. Both plagued by injuries in the 1993-94 season, Mourning and Johnson came back to play in the 1995 All-Star Game in Phoenix and also lead the Hornets to the 1995 NBA Playoffs. Mourning in particular, had a super season. The 6-10 center recorded an NBA career-high 1,643 points to go along with team-highs of 761 rebounds, 225 blocked shots and a .519 field goal shooting percentage.

Dell led the Hornets in three-point shots made (52) and taken (147) last season, finishing third on the team in scoring as he enjoyed the best scoring season of his career thus far. His college career saw him chosen as Metro player-of-the-year in his senior year, when he led the conference in scoring, and as a second-team all-American He also pitched in college, and was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles.

Terry Rozier, III
Like a fine wine, Rozier only gets better with age. Typically at his best in the fourth quarter, he plays with top-notch energy and makes defenders whine with fatigue. With his tireless triples and clutch creation of shots, the guard makes Charlotte an exhausting team to close out.
